Psychiatric Evaluation
Your first appointment is a comprehensive evaluation designed to understand both your medical and psychiatric history in the context of your life experiences. We will review your symptoms, past treatments, relevant family history, and any contributing stressors. When needed, I may recommend labs or gather collateral information to ensure the best-informed care plan. The initial visit forms the foundation for ongoing treatment, typically focused on medication management.
Psychopharmacology
Medication is often the most effective tool in managing psychiatric conditions. My approach is careful and evidence-based: we discuss your symptoms, treatment goals, and preferences before deciding on options together. If medication is appropriate, I prescribe thoughtfully, monitor for side effects, and review labs as needed. Follow-up visits often include brief supportive or skills-based discussion, so care addresses both symptoms and overall well-being.
Psychotherapy
Therapeutic work is an important part of my approach to care. I integrate psychotherapy into medication visits when it can help patients gain insight, strengthen coping, and make meaningful changes in their lives. My style draws from psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, and supportive therapies, always tailored to each patient’s needs. For most individuals, this therapy is incorporated in brief, focused ways within ongoing medication management.
