The sections below outline how evaluation, medication management, and psychotherapy are integrated within ongoing outpatient care.
Psychiatric Evaluation
Your first appointment is a comprehensive evaluation designed to understand your symptoms within the context of your life. We will review your history, past treatments, and current concerns to clarify diagnosis and develop a clear treatment plan.
When appropriate, I may recommend labs or gather information to ensure the plan is well-informed. This visit forms the foundation for ongoing care.
Psychopharmacology
Medication can be an important part of treatment. My approach is careful and collaborative - we review symptoms, goals, and preferences before making decisions together.
If medication is appropriate, I prescribe thoughtfully, monitor for side effects, and adjust gradually as needed. Follow-up visits often include brief supportive or skills-based discussion so care addresses both symptom relief and overall well-being.
Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is woven into care when it can be helpful. I draw from psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, and supportive approaches, tailored to each individual.
For most patients, this work occurs in focused ways within ongoing medication visits - offering space for reflection, insight, and practical change.
