How It Works
Free Phone Consultation
Choosing the right psychiatrist is an important decision. I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation to answer your questions and help determine whether my practice is a good fit for your needs. If you decide to move forward, we can then arrange a full evaluation and coordinate next steps.
What to Expect
-
Initial Evaluation: 50 minutes
During this visit, we'll review your history, symptoms, and goals to develop an initial treatment plan together. -
Follow-up Visits: 25 minutes
These shorter sessions focus on medication management, progress updates, and brief therapeutic support as needed. -
My approach is collaborative: treatment decisions are guided by medical expertise and shaped together through thoughtful conversation.
Practice Policies
-
Insurance & Payment - I currently accept Aetna and Horizon BCBS of NJ via Headway. Payment is due at the time of service for self-pay patients; detailed billing statements are available for out-of-network reimbursement.
-
Cancellations - Please give at least 24hr notice for cancellations. Late cancellations and no-shows will incur a fee of $75.
-
Medications - I prescribe medications when clinically appropriate, including controlled substances. These require careful monitoring and may not be prescribed at the first visit. Refills are provided only during scheduled appointments, and certain prescriptions may involve extra safeguards such as treatment agreements or state monitoring programs.
-
Paperwork - I do not provide disability, nexus, or court-ordered evaluations. Paperwork may be considered only if it is part of ongoing treatment.
-
Communication - Routine messages are handled by email/secure messaging, with responses typically within 1-2 business days. Emergencies should be directed to 911 or 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
-
Telehealth - Services are provided through HIPAA-compliant telehealth across New Jersey.
-
Patient Population - I see adults (18+) for outpatient psychiatric care.
